Privacy Statement

At the City of Derry International Choir Festival, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of the visitors to our website, subscribers to our newsletter, participants and Friends of the Festival. Here you will find information on how we treat the data that we collect.

Festival Participant Sign-Up
As part of the registration for taking part in the Festival, we collect personal information. We use that information to contact you regarding logistical details about participating in the festival, make you aware of the full festival programme, offer you tickets for Festival events and encourage you to participate in future festivals. We do not disclose these personal details with any other organization or business.

You will be contacted by direct email from our Festival staff and can ask to be removed from the contact list at any stage.

Friend of the Festival Sign-Up
As part of the registration for becoming a Friend of the Festival, we collect personal information. We use that information to contact you regarding details about your Friends package, make you aware of the full festival programme, and encourage you to sign up as a Friend for future festivals. We do not disclose these personal details with any other organization or business.

You will be contacted by direct email from our Festival staff and can ask to be removed from the contact list at any stage.

Newsletter Sign-Up
As part of the registration process for our e-newsletter, we collect personal information. We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about Choir Festival events; to provide ticketing information for those events; to encourage your participation in the Festival. We don't rent or trade email lists with any other organisations and businesses.

We use a third party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. We use Mailchimp as they are GDPR compliant. For more information, please see MailChimp’s privacy notice.

You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing our Festival Manager Fiona Crosbie at fiona.crosbie@derrychoirfest.com.

Contact Us Query
In order to contact us with a query about the festival we ask you to provide your name, email address and phone number so that we can respond to your query promptly. As soon as your query has been answered we delete your contact information.

Visitors to our Website
When someone visits www.derrychoirfest.com we use a third-party service called Google Analytics to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way that does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

If we do want to collect personally identifiable information through our website, we will be up front about this. There are four occasions when we ask for personal information on our website. These are: signing up to our newsletter; signing up to take part in the Festival; signing up as a Friend of the Festival; and submitting a query via the “Contact Us” page . We will make it clear when we collect personal information and will explain what we intend to do with it.

Ticketing Data
When you purchase a ticket (or tickets) online via our Box Office partners at the Millennium Forum your postcode data is shared with the Festival. We use this anonymous data to research the geographical demographic for the Festival and we share that information with our funders.

When you purchase a ticket (or tickets) online via our Box Office partners at the Millennium Forum you may opt-in to share your name, address and/or email, which will be shared securely with the Festival, added to our mailing list and used to contact you with information about future festivals. We do not share this information with any other organisations or businesses and you can opt-out of the mailing list at any time.

You may, of course, purchase a ticket (or tickets) in person at the Millennium Forum Box Office without supplying any of the aforementioned personal data.

Third Parties
We share anonymous postcode data and anonymous Google Analytics information with our funders (and potential funders) as a measure of the reach of the Festival both geographically and online.

Access to Your Personal Information
You are entitled to access the personal information that we hold. Email your request to our Festival Manager Fiona Crosbie at fiona.crosbie@derrychoirfest.com.
