Over 60 Choirs Confirmed for City of Derry International Choir Festival 2023

With over 60 incredible choirs from Ireland, the UK, and Europe, this year’s 10th anniversary choral extravaganza is shaping up very nicely indeed…

Here’s a few updates on what to expect at this year’s festival:

National Competitions

Prepare for an epic showdown at the Millennium Forum, where choirs from all over Ireland and the UK will compete in categories like Light, Pop, Jazz, Sacred, and Gospel. The winners will battle it out on Sunday for the prestigious National Choir of the Festival Competition. Get ready for some nail-biting performances!

Schools

We’re taking school engagement to new heights! Secondary school choirs from Derry and Strabane will go head-to-head with visiting schools in our post-primary categories on Friday. But that’s not all! On Thursday, primary school children from Derry, Strabane, and Donegal will come together at the Millennium Forum for the Primary Big Sing workshop. Let those little voices soar! 🎶

Non-Competitive

Our non-competitive program is back and better than ever! Festival choirs will join forces with our local choral community for a series of free community concerts and delightful pop-up events throughout the week. Get ready to experience the magic of choral music as we take over Derry, Strabane, and Donegal!
