Michael Tippett: A Child of Our Time
Ulster Orchestra and Festival Chorus

The 2024 Festival Chorus will be joined by the Ulster Orchestra to perform the very brilliant and much-celebrated oratorio ‘A Child of our Time’ by Michael Tippett in the Millennium Forum as the Opening Gala Concert of this year’s festival. A plea for tolerance and humanity at a time of oppression and hate, the universal themes of Tippett’s great work continue to resonate in our own era.

You don’t need to be a member of a choir to take part. If you can sing, want to be part of this large-scale, dynamic chorus and perform with the Ulster Orchestra, then sign up below!

Rehearsal Schedule 
Sundays 9, 16, 23 June
SUMMER BREAK
Sundays 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 September
Sundays 6, 13, 20 October
(All rehearsals in Model Primary School, 2pm – 4pm)

Tuesday 22 October – Evening rehearsal with conductor
Wednesday 23 October – Late afternoon rehearsal with orchestra and soloists

Opening Gala Concert
